b18b2 swap for ??????
hello im sure there is 100 answers to this question but i have a b18b2 in my 96 integra and someone gave me an f23a4 engine with a fresh head job on it. i was wondering if this would be a good swap for the b18b2 or not. if not what would be a good swap for more power if there is one or should i build the b18b2 engine. ther reason i ask is the b18 is knocking real bad and i need to decide what to do. i really dont know much about the hondas and it seems like theres alot of different engines out there. so if your not laughing too hard by now give me some ideas. what would you do ?? thanks
The f23a4 has a little bit more hp and torque than the b18, 148hp and 150tq, Even though it has the ULEV head which is engineered for better mpg. since yours is knocking, and if the f23 is a good motor, i say swap it, your going to need new motor mounts, these --> http://www.nolimitmotorsport.com/prod/HAS-EGH2
thankyou for the quick response. can i put my head on that engine? does that get me anything? or not possible? and if i use the ulev head does my distributor swap over or do i need to rewire the new dist to my car?
not possible and your going to need a f23 dist, f/h series trans and trans mount, also going to have to run wires for vtec to ecu. Is this your daily or not? if not, then just rebuild the b18
well ok dirtyda9 ima goin for it. i work in an auto repair shop so i dont think this sounds too difficult. and while im changing the trans i guess might as well do the automatic to stick shift conversion as well. and certain trans you guys would recomend ??? and its not my daily driver it was for my son but heck after all this work maybe ill get him another car. lol kinda funny somebody said to me the other day "do you own anything stock, thats not souped up, converted, or modified." thanks for all your input guys
The auto to manual trans will take more swapped parts then the engine swap will haha Is there a welder at your shop? I believe the aftermarket mount bolt to the frame, but for better rigidity, weld them b1tches in lol I don't know much about F/H series stuff, so I coulnd't tell you what trans to use...

yes we have mig welder and i kinda know what to expect on trans conversion (pedals, linkage, mounts, and whatever i didnt think of) lol. damn the local wrecking yards here just had their half price weekend too.
You will have to get a guage cluster, MT ecu, master/slave cylindiers. I can't remember everything else, but I know there are a few more thngs aside from what you listed as well. But in the end it will definately be worth the F-series/MT swap.
