putting 6.5" speakers in the door on a 3g teg (did search)
I am putting diamond 6.5" speakes in the door.
Where is that post or link to the info about getting it to work?
Isnt there a big wooden spacer I need to make?
how thick should it be? do you just make it out of wood?
thanks in advance

my reccommendation to you would be to go to a best buy or a circuit city or something of the sort and buy the appropriate spacers that are made out of abs plastic. they come in such varieties as 1/2", 1" and 1 1/2". and will be much easier than makin your own out of wood, plus you wont have to worriy about them dryrotting due to exposure to rain water.
wood tends to rattle badly due to air pockets and incosistencies in the grain.

Well depending on how deep the speaker is you can possibly use the existing plastic bracket...you may have to cut out the rear of the bracket to make it a reality.
have fun

I will try cutting them out first, then will do the spacer trick.

I made some wooden rings to get my bostons in the doors. I used a jig saw and some time. I just screwed the speakers to the wood to the door. It works and I haven't had any troubles yet. Definally a pain to get them cut right however.
