My auto body refinishing supplier sells Dupont products which I will be using, he has Nason (cheaper Dupont made product) that he sells and says it is nearly as good. Just don't expect great pearl colors from it compared to even an actual Dupont branded/named paint, I got a can of each in the same color and you could visually see the difference between how the color popped, but he says it will hold up just as well in terms of after being applied. I'm still learning about paint, so I'd let a pro give you advice, this is just what I was told by my supplier who's been in the business for years.

All of the major paint manufacturers have economy lines. There's limco, nason, omni, centari, shopline and the cheaper martin senour stuff sold at napa. Also available online is Kirker, HOK, thecoatingstore and many others. HOK stuff is pretty good for the pricepoint but it certainly isn't the cheapest. If going with a local option, I would go with Nason as I have heard horror stories about Omni.

My nason I picked up is a metallic pearl basecoat clear to go on top. So 2 stage. You are now talking about quality however. You get what you pay for. If you want quality it wont come cheap. Spend your money on good paint like Dupont, ppg, basf, hok, etc. Are you wanting a superior paint job or a get me by paint job. There isn't really a median.

KemFx/KemBase

My brother painted a towtruck where I work and it came out great for not even having much bodywork done. I'm going with their black pearl.

KemBase Pearl Color Basecoat ClearCoat Gallon Kits $184.99 for everything

It's good paint, but that kit isn't everything you need. It's clearcoat and basecoat with necessary reducers/activators, only. You still need primer. I have used thecoatingstore products, they are on par with HOK.
