Default boosting my b18c1

i posted this in forced induction but no response so....
i picked up a complete kit from my buddy, it was cheap so i said screw it. i've never boosted a car or had a boosted car. i did some basic research regarding installing and how it would all work but I'm down to this. what would be the difference of running a p28 and a p72 (both chipped). i understand that the 72 lets you open up your secondaries. is it better to run a p28 on a boosted car? (i see a lot of people running the p28) any info is very appreciated. i consider my self a noob when it come to turbos so id appreciate it if any one with an anger problem dosent burn me.

What intake manifold are you using and what tuning solution are you planning on using?

Most people get used p06, p28 or p75 ECUs (because they are common) customized for their build. I/e it will have VTEC added, IAB added if necessary, boost control, and either a socket or an emulator installed.

I've never heard of anyone leaving their stock IM on the GSR and tuning the P72 to also open the butterfly... can it be done if you're trying to boost a stock GSR? wouldn't you gain more power by putting a single stage IM like the skunk2 or type R?

I'm sure the GS-R IM is not the top choice for FI since it doesn't flow very well, but it would work fine until you could get a better IM (like a VictorX).

I don't know much about turbocharging but I speculate that the GS-R IM actually has an around-town advantage, since you can benefit from the bypass until the turbo spools up.

I would guess that 550 would be about right for injectors, depending upon your power goals. But the all motor guys have started using 770 or 1000 ID injectors because the spray is so much better than the old RCs. My uneducated guess is that those would be OK as well.

Best advice is to lurk the FI forums and see what injectors people use with what builds.

Edit: removed bad info (at least the bad info I'm now aware of!)

OE itr manifolds wont bolt to a gsr head. you need a skunk2/blox copy. 1000cc injectors will support any amount of power you can make. dont forget the pump and fpr.

Don't just add 1000cc injectors to be safe. That isn't how it works. 2 things control your fuel, injector size, and duration (controlled by ecu, it is tuneable)

Bigger isn't necessarily better.

Also, https://honda-tech.com/forums/forced-induction-16/b18-gsr-intake-manifold-restriction-2882577/

OEM MANIFOLD WILL DELIVER! :D

ECU doesnt matter, peopel use p28 because of obd1 compatability. p72 is either obd1/2.

Use either, I'd get a gsr one to be perfectly honest.

why not go with the bigger injectors? gives you plenty of room to grow and lower duty cycles

Exactly what I was going to say^^^ You can never go to big because you can always adjust duty cycle and pulse width.

as long as its an obd1 ecu w/ vtec u are good. you dont need an after market fpr or fuel pump for 300hp which is around what u will hit at 10 psi on a 57 trim turbo but i would replace the fuel pump just to ensure it doesnt go out on you. If you plan on getting tuned on e85 then i would go with 1000cc injectors if not then jus get some dsm injectors since they are cheap and you can always resale them for the same price if u upgrade them in the future. You will also need to go with atleast a 2.5in exhaust. it would also help if you post what you currently have on your car and everything you got in the kit.
