How can you spruce up the paint in the engine bay?
My '94 hatch has nice shiny paint on the outside, but the engine bay paint has no shine to it at all. Is there a product that I can use on it to shine it up a little? One of those spray wax products maybe?
MOBworks.com will spray your engine bay w/out yanking the motor and it looks bitchin. They are in Cali though...

Ok, well I have a dumb question. I bought my car with new paint, but the door jambs had not been done. So, I decided to temporarily fix it, seeing as it will be repainted next summer. Well, my temporarily fix was flat black paint. It gets all dirty, and is hard to clean. Is there anything that can be rubbed on it, or whatever, to make it glossy. I guess like a rub on clear coat or something(with out having to paint it again). I do not want to mask it off again.

you don't even need the compound (unless you had the hood off for a long time) just spray down the whole area then spray simple green foaming cleaner on all the painted surfaces let it sit for 10-15 min (make sure the car is cold otherwise the cleaner and dirt will dry before you rinse and it will look worse than when you started) rinse it all off and use CLEAN dry TERRI-Cloth towels. as soon as the towel is even mildly dirty use a new one.
Depending on how bad your engine bay is you may need to repeat. but with the quality of the factory paint job it should need no more than a good cleaning under the hood.

there's no way to rub on a clear coat- as far as I know...You could get a clear coat in a rattle can, and you'll have to mask it off again. Flat black is the hardest to keep looking good, because stuff doesn't want to rub off so easily.
Do what i plan on doing soon... Tape everything up, and paint it...
i plan on redoing the whole front clip. Fenderwells & radiator supports will be flat black, then the whole engine bay will be Milano Red w/ ClearCoat... Main thing to remember to tape up is all nuts/bolts... otherwise it looks hack job...
