Is this an option? I would realy like to upgrade to disc brakes without giving up the $2000 wheels I just bought...

 

2002-2003 SI (EP3) have 4 lug.

 

My Acura el has rear disc breaks

 

Ep3 rears would be a hard find, and unless your close to Canada, acura EL would cost to get shipped, not to mention the rust.
But I would like this upgrade too.

EP3 rear brakes are far from difficult to find. There were a ton of them out there, and a lot of EP3 owners who still have 4-lug upgrade to the more modern 5-lug setup.

 

If you can find a five lug rear disc swap set, you should be able to convert the five bolt wheel bearing and hub assembly to a four bolt, along with changing the five bolt rotor to a four bolt rotor. I believe everything else (spindle, caliper, and caliper bracket should be the same) You could likely find white box rotors and wheel bearings for under $200 usd.

 

yeah cant you just knock out the hub and switch them?

 

remove & replace the 5 lug hub...yes

 

thats what I had planned, dont feel the need to do the rear disc. I dont drive fast

Yeah the Acura EL has rear disc, shouldn't be too hard to find a parts car. Several of them in the junkyards near here (Newfoundland).

 

Newfoundland ≠ Florida


Acura EL is not a common vehicle in the states, and it simply wouldn't be worth the cost alone of shipping the parts from Newfoundland-to-Florida. Better off using EP3.
