89 2.0s or 01 gsr
I daily drive an 89 carbed prelude and am debating on puttin my gsr on the road. its gonna start snowing soon but i really want to drive my gsr. The prelude sucks cause its carbd and is very moody but its a very solid car just lacks the power.
I know most ht members would say stash the teg for the winter but rust isnt an issue on this car and i plan to keep it clean thu the winter. but my main concern is i just replaced the head and i dont want it to sit i want to run it. could putting a motor together for it to sit cause any issues? i know sitting for any motor is bad but i mean is it worse in anyway

The only thing I can see going wrong is the assembly lube dropping off the cam and crank journals..... Otherwise it should be ok. People get machine work done but don't put the engines together for months
Just start the car and let it run every couple months in the winter. Let it run until full operating temp is reached, then shut her off. It is also a good idea to put STABIL (fuel stabalizer) in the gas, to keep the fuel fresh during the long sit if you decide to do so. If it gets real cold there, like it does in MN, which im sure it does, I would take the battery out and store it in a warm place. Go to start the car when it is around 20 degrees, not 20 below. My cars sit out all the time, and the ones that rest for winter never have any problems if I do the above methods.
