Hi everyone... When I start the car, all 3 brake lights (2 back lights & the high mount) work fine but somewhere during driving the brake light out warning comes on..
I had my sister hold down the pedal and as far as I can tell, all the brake lights were lighting perfectly fine..
The brake light switch behind the pedal that loves to go bad is also functioning fine...
Any ideas? Could it be that one of the bulbs is on the way out?
Thanks

Hmmm.. I am not 100% certain but I thought the brake fluid warning from the MC was a different light from the one which says bulb out...
I will still take a look just to make sure

I have had that problem before and its probably indicating that your Brake fluid is low. If thats not the case, maybe the sensor from the hand brake if not making good contact.
E-brake on and low brake fluid are one light.
The warning for a bulb, is on the "car icon"-same one that tells you the door(s) or trunk is open.

So what if you have both on at once?
The bulb out and the e-brake light...
They seem to come on both at the exact same time..

You need to go spend $3 on some dot3 brake fluid.
This is easy to check, if you look at the smallest reservoir in the bay, and its empty...add break fluid.
Pump brakes.
Does light go away?
Also fill your clutch reservoir* (the other one) while your at it.
*Manual trans only

I've repaired faulty solder joints in the gauge cluster for the brake bulb indicator on. If the light that is on is the BRAKE indicator, it would be warning that the brake fluid may be low.

Just to update.. Turns out that the contacts around the bulb itself were slightly corroded.. Cleaned up with a wire brush and good to go..
I don't know what Stanley/Honda did but I still have the original 15 year old brake bulbs and they work perfectly fine..
