Default DC2 0r EG

I am looking for a good road racing car to start building in january. I previously owned a 1994 integra gsr and i loved it but i was wondering how would it compare to an eg as far as a road racing car. Some questions that i have are which has the potential lightest weight, pros and cons as far as handling and etc. Thanks in advance for the help and please keep the flame to yourself.

Acura integra type R is the best handling front wheel drive CAR EVER. This is a fact, not based on 'opinions'

You want a good car? Get an integra and upgrade to type R steez yo!

In terms of light weight, get yourself a crx with a B swap if you want light. To be honest, gutting your car doesn't do ****. Sure if you want the extra 0.1s at the 1/4 mile do it, but its really pointless unless you are representing HONDA at the races.

sebTeggy is on point with the Type R Facts.
As for your question which is better between an integra or an eg...
You need a lil more info bro.
1)Type of Road Racing
2)Type of Car(coupe,Hatch,etc.)
3)Type of Engine(B,D,K,H)

@sebteggy thanks for the info, Question- its going to be autocross and im going to be ungrading the stock suspension to a coilover setup any input as to which way i should go( if i went dc2). Would weight reduction still not make a difference even if i am replacing the windows with acrylic?

@ kona solijah-
1.Autocross
2. It would be a hatch(eg or ek)
3. I want a k24 but ive been hearing that there are better swaps for what i want.

More or less though i am talking weight and suspension with this thread. As for the motor though its going to be all motor.

If you are competing in autocross, look at the stock classes and see which cars consistently perform the best. Modified classes will quickly set you back much money.

I was actually looking at getting a miata... any specific models in mind? but i do still want a fwd car, im most likely am just going to get another dc2 and call it a day. After some feedback about motor swap i may just end up going b series. So im prob gonna sell my kswap parts in the near future.

I'd say all motor ls. Vtec really isnt that impressive if you are going to stay above 6k all day. Not to mention you would want a longer tranny, so full ls+ls tranny.

get aggressive cams, get some head work done. it will by far be the cheapest build since ls parts are extremely plentiful.

Here is an example. 211whp all motor LS. Its not even fully tuned.

EDIT: Also, killer torque on LS motors. 132wtq isn't bad. But again, some believe for this amount of money you could swap a K motor in, but they are wrong. I'd rather have a freshly built all motor LS than a non-rebuilt random powered K motor. 9.5k revs sounds fun

The EG and DC are both great platforms. The EG tends to be a little more expensive (swap). It just comes down to preference.

Since you'll be doing more autocross racing, I think you should go with B-series motor. And with the b-series motor, defintely put a type r trans or if you cant get a type r trans go gsr. I recommend those tranny's due to you plans for an n/a build. Type R's trans have a close gear ratio's set up(Great for n/a builds). Gsr's have lil bit longer gears but they're closer than the ls trans. And as for suspension talk. If you go with a DC2 integra, you can upgrade the set up close to an type r. Thats my input. Hope this helps =KonaSoljah=
