Custom Short Ram Intake for Odyssey
This is the short ram intake I made for my 2006 Honda Odyssey EX-L. It was made using an extra EF Civic intake tube, AEM filter, and a Vibrant silicone coupler and clamps. I came up with design and mocked it up and then had it welded up at Slick Motorsports.

I don't really know if it did anything for performance or fuel economy, but it sounds great. It has the typical sucking hiss when you goose it, a nice deep growl when you are under load, and a cool little honk at shut-down.

nice custom work there. Do you remember the stock air box and air snorkel? Am I right in saying that the air opening of the snorkel that leads to the box is right behind the radiator? It sure looks like it.
Yes the air box leads down behind the head light to a resonator box that's under the bumper cover. An intake snokel comes up out of the resonator and gets the intake air from the radiator.
I took off the front bumper cover to remove all of the factory intake parts.

Aha. Many thanks. I was toying with the idea of removing the snorkel that leads to the radiator and replace it with a flex pipe routed direct to the front opening for fresh air. But alas, got postponed. Maybe next year.
p.s. how about posting a vid of the intake sound? hehe.

I think something may have changed from '06 to '07. I don't remember a sensor on my intake. I believe there is a sensor on my throttle body and that was it.

Here's what I'm talking about, I took a quick picture:

You see that Mass Air Flow sensor bolted to the air box? thats what is preventing me from making an intake. I guess 2007 and up Odyssey's have that...
I may just unplug the sensor to see if it still runs fine without it, although I know it will throw a CEL if I do. It's just funny how 2006 and below don't even have mass air flow sensors. Because I also have a sensor on the throttle body, so its not like they just moved the mass air flow sensor from the throttle body to the air box for 07.
Any ideas?

I just went and checked my stock air box. It looks like I was right about the change between years. Mine does not have a MAF sensor. If you were to make an intake it would take a lot of precision in design to be able to run right. I'm sorry to hear you have to deal with that.
