Welcome to my build thread. My name is Edward (but you may use any "Ed" associations) I'm 21 years old, the automotive field/culture is a big part of my passion alongside with photography.
In my build thread I will do my best to provide quality and detailed pictures everytime. Wether it's going to buy a bumper, I want you guys to feel how I felt
While learning a lot myself I'll do my part in sharing with members any info. The car I will be building is my '91 CRX Flint Black, purchased it 11/06/11. Car is in running condition, everything is stock with the exception of worn, rusty, dirty, and a few missing parts like the carpet, glovebox few minor things. I chased the CRX platform because it was my first love of a Honda my brother owned a '91 CRX Si Flint Black back in 1994-1995, but also it's a car that even in it's day was nimble without packing a huge punch in the bay. Today in age possibilities are as endless as our pockets.
My intentions are to bring back the nostalgia in this car and slowly upgrade all the necessary goodies. I will eventually take on any track days at Lime Rock Park, or New Hampshire Speedway just to name a few. Just trying to keep the momentum going.
Thanks for checking out the thread, any critiques or comments will be welcomed without me saying "you're a hater"

Now pictures of how it arrived home.

The shot of the bay, hoping to make this a drastic before and after

Why would you paint the cargo compartment red

11/11/11 - Perfect day, after sitting in the CRX and seeing what my picky self wanted to change, sourced a totaled CRX Si that was in a multiple roll over accident. It was missing mint seats and steering I figure take a look at it. Next thing you know I end up taking the whole interior, included a set of Si wheels, and anything else I could grab. Coincidentally I was selling a set of Kosei K1s so we decided to meet at the same location. Thanks to Ed (the owner) and to Ed (the son, driver) for the hospitality and super come up on the parts, I kid you not, 4 Eds including my friend in that driveway haha.
Koseis we're in the daily ready to go

Who doesn't love the fall

How I found the poor CRX

Night fell after taking everything, Just needed the dash and I can go home lol (Needed the owner's help to destroy the CRX more)
As I waited started packing the daily, notice the wheels are gone

Full up the wazoo

Waited a few days to work and organize everything, then decided to throw on the Sis, stash the center caps and wash the dust off my CRX to see what she looked like. Cell phone pic ftl

A week later I was happy with my clean complete interior, instead of just slapping it in the car, I decided to source some fenders, hood, and a door. Next thing you know I'm driving in the rain to find another mint CRX totaled. Ended up buying the hood, door complete with stupid mint door panel (Compared to the penny size rip on my other panels) Thanks to Joe for being a cool guy and helping with the door.

Patience my butt, these wouldn't survive if I did not come quick enough

That's all the catching up needed for the present, just waiting on new quarter panels, and few things and we can start the teardown for body work
Thanks

Thanks for the support guys, hope you all had a nice Turkey over the weekend. No updates yet, been pushing extra hours plus the long weekend had me busy. Sourced some new parts which I am waiting for as well. Should have more for you guys pronto
Thanks, waiting on my new quarters to have the body shop cut out the "no bueno" parts. And please no worries, what you mean by pain to sort through.
Once again thank you Master Claudio for all your worldly wisdom you have bestowed upon us. Your presence in this thread is indeed a treat

Update 01/13/2012
Thanks again everyone for the comments. Since I picked up those mint panels with the door nothing much was done up until few weeks ago. Alot of ordering was going on & waiting.
I started off by putting on my replacement teal hood. You might ask yourself why put on a bright colored hood, well it's in better condition, no rust, means less hassle with body work.

This is what I found behind one of the panels of the Red totaled Si. I guess the guy who had the car didn't even know the original owner played a ruse. I called him to confirm

It was time to organize all my mint parts for the interior and clean them up a bit since they will sit until after paint/bodywork. About 90% of the interior is from the Red Si, sadly the owner had cut up the dash harness to remove his radio, alarm. etc. So I will have to replace it with my dash harness

Driver Side

Crack-less Climate Control yetszzz

Quarters are waiting for bonding time

Few parts on the way here, hurry up FedEx

Other than that I am hoping to have the car in the shop this weekend or begging of next week, will update with the trip & more info.

Update 1/20/2012
Well today was the day  Took the CRX to the shop. You guys will be very disappointed to find out that I took absolutely no photos, was too busy talking and driving so I will make up for it. My driving experience was unexplainable, I haven't really driven the car much and just love it to def ride is a little harsh because it has studded snow tires in the back so we can imagine on the noise. Passenger side caliper/rotor/pads need to be changed.
Overall the 35 minute drive was fun :bounce:
I did take some pictures though, it snowed about an inch and a half last night so I was sure to be up at 100am to take some pics.

To give you guys an idea of what kind of work is going into the car. The painter/body guy has done a few select cars from the area. For example this JDM Front DB I did a photo-shoot of back in the beginning of December.

You can find the rest of that photo-shoot by clicking this banner. Enjoy!
