Shady Tree Mechanic with d16y8 Tranny Problems help troubleshoot!?
93 honda del sol SI d16y8 with a 5 speed transmission
problems when in gear I let off the accelerator while clutch is engaged and when the transmission starts to slow the motor/car down
I hear this horrible noise I believe to be my clutch perhaps a spring on the disk rubbing on the pressure plate?
= could it be a spring on the clutch?
allready flushed the transmission and topped it off with new syncromesh and bled the clutch
at this point I am convinced I am going to be removing this transmission again very soon....
want to know if I am dealing with a clutch issue or a transmission!

like a rubbing metal tink tink when the car is idling clutch out in neutral - in the bell housing
a scraping tink faint while idling
character of a clutch hitting the pressure plate or the flywheel incorrectly - but it does NOT pop out of any gears....
when rolling to a stop it is extremely difficult to get it to pop into first gear before it winds up to accept the first gear -
the sound is at its worst when I bring the car up to speed and start to slow down (let off the gas) when the car is in gear.. the pressure on the drivetrain makes the horrible noise -
not effecting my gear selection yet but I fear it will if I drive it any... I caught this problem early....

grinding while driving is your diff bearings .rattle in nuetral is usually the input shaft bearing. the grinding sounds like something scraping .and the noise in nuetral tends to sound like a helicopter taka taka taka
OP, does this describe your sound? Any ideas what it is?
Its more of a roaring noise and can be heard until you get 4th and 5th less pressure on the shaft I said f it and just threw in a new clutch. Something wasn't installed correctly however I have seen the clutch get bled of any air and it stopped on a Buddy's car. But he could hit the brake and the horn go off. He goes through weird **** more than anyone I know
