2009 Element no primer?
Ok This is wierd and I need some thoughts.
I have a Honda 2009 Element. Had a few chips on the front of the hood I see Grayish/white primer underneath the chips got some touch up paint and all good.
A few weeks ago I get my windshield replaced due to a chip and the installer tells me I have a big paint flake on the roof. We look and it appears to just metal and paint no primer. I bring it to the dealer they are like WTF, and it spends a week in the body shop getting sanded down, primed and painted (roof).
The other day I get into a fender bender and I have paint damage to the passenger side panel by the wheel well. It looks like its paint on metal, just steal or aluminum and paint, no primer
Should this car not have primer or something over the metal??? I always assumed there is or should be a layer of primer on the metal before paint.
Any one know?
