Default Exhaust Pipe diameter

In terms of power, whats the best exhaust diameter to go with for a D16Y8. I know some motors work best at a certain diameter (F20C) and was wondering if that was the same for a D16Y8 or should I go for as big as possible when making my own exhaust system

Are you doing any other modifications? N/A, Supercharged, and Turbo all require a different diameter.

30 Inches!!!!

3 inch pipe to a 4.5 inch muffler is pretty good. I have this on my d16y8.

On a N/A D16, no bigger than 2.5" is needed.

Sorry, now that i Think about this, heres a better way to phrase this; I am still unsure if i will turbo this car, (though the top end is built for it), so of course for that a larger exhaust piping diameter is needed, but while it is still n/a will the larger pipe have a large effect on the vacuum needed to help suck exhaust out of the engine and thus result in a decrease in power?

why would you put that on a single cam non turbo stock on my car i replaced the exhaust with 2.25 piping and a magnaflow exhaust need to install a resonator because it becomes raspy sometimes but i have universal cat as well reason why i replaced it because my exhaust piping was rusted and so was my muffler
