i locked my self out of my car help
I left my keys inside my 1992 prelude any ideas of how to open the door. I don't wanna call a locksmith
I got it open thank you for the help though

How'd you do that? My 93 wont let me lock the doors from the inside with the car off, If I lock them and shut the door they unlock, I have to use the key. Most ways can potentially F up your weather stripping around the door, might as well just spend the cash. You could though check how much the dealer wants for a key since they only need the VIN, employee cost was like $1 so it can't be too much, might be cheaper than a locksmith.

Yo go to the dealer take ur reg or something that has proof that's it's your car and have the vin and you just pay 5 bucks cheaper good luck if not call AAA 8)

call your local fire department and ask if they do lockouts. they will pry the top edge of the door open and use a metal/wire tool to reach in and pop the latch or the door lock.

I was unaware that you could actually lock your keys in your Honda unless you threw them in the trunk, with the doors already shut and locked, and then shut the trunk. Every Honda I have owned the driver door would not lock if the door was opened unless you purposely held the handle open then pushed the lock in (which seems retarded IMO).
Good luck OP. I would suggest to just go to Honda and see what they can do.

Hahaha I know I have no idea. I lock my keys in my ford once a week when I get to work because I have a certain routine that makes me leave the keys in the ignition.... sigh...

Not anyone's partner in any type of crime, **** that.
I obviously pm'd him instead of posting it on here OBVIOUSLY to avoid the information getting into someone's hands who would be trying to break into a car, now if I was in OP's position where I locked my keys in and I didn't know I'd want someone to tell me so I can save myself some money, we aren't all made out of money, sure you can afford to have your **** opened every time ur keys get locked, but that's not that case for everyone.

so the part where you pm'd him was being discreet..i understand, but when you start talking about how easy it is to break in to a 4th gen prelude and how you can teach a 2 year old just doesnt seem legit. I understand that one must learn to get their keys out in case they lock it up, but saying that you can GET A 2 YEAR OLD IN TO ONE and 4TH GENS ARE THE EASIEST TO BREAK IN TO just doesnt sit well with me..and so im glad im not anywhere near your vicinity. It may be easy, but dont go telling anyone or everyone that it is. Pm is the proper way, not crediting your SKILLS OF HOW TO to the mass!!! *myOpinion*

In the Civic section we advise people locked out of their cars to do one of the following:
- Call a locksmith/lock out company.
- Do a non-emergency call to the local police or fire station. Some will do lockouts.
- Go to Honda with <$10, proof of ownership, your VIN and a photo ID. They can cut a new key there. (I actually have a few friends who I trust to have a spare key in the event I need to call someone for help.)
Unfortunately many of these older Hondas are easy to break into, and posting it online isn't a good idea because you can't really be sure if any of us are out to break into our own car innocently or out to break into someone else's car illegally. Anyone on this site could be a thief. PMing a thief is perhaps marginally better than posting it for many thieves to read.
Not that I think all thieves out there use Honda-Tech to learn how to break into cars.
