Hi everyone... I was driving down the road and hit a rock which punched a hefty hole in my transmission pan which then managed to crack my transmission valve body..
Basically, the rest of the transmission checks out ok, but I need a new valve body... I have been told by the local honda dealer (true or not I don't know) that there are multiple models of transmission for this car and as such I should order the part through them..
Do any of you know if there were multiple tranmission models/codes for this car, also does anyone on the forum have a valve body they will be willing to sell?
Thanks

just looking at bernardiparts.com, the valve body is the same part number for all models from 96-98, maybe even newer models, i just stopped looking after 3 years of the same thing.

That is exactly what I thought, which is why I suspect my Honda/Acura dealer of trying to pull a fast one on me...
I need to go under there and get the p/n just to play it safe, but still I think this vehicle used the same trans for about 8 model years...

I doubt that this number will be stamped on my valve body so it may be a hard judge..
Thing is, all the RL's were made in japan, only difference being some were RHD, others LHD.. I can't see them offering two different trannys based simply on that..

All of the trannsmissions in those cars were the same throughout the years, it could be possible that the valve bodies used are different model numbers at some point, but the part itself is the same regardeless of year. So just order one from wherever you want and youll be fine.

Thanks for all the advice given so far..
I will see if I can find any more info, but if not i'll just order the valve body and content myself that it should work..
Shame that a warranted used transmission is cheaper than a new valve body though..
