Default My crank pulley is separating!?!?

Hey again! One problem down, another one to take its place. I found out my loss of electrical power. The belt to my alternator and crank had been slipping. Upon further investigation, I found that my belt was slipping was due to the fact that the entire crank pulley itself can be turned by hand in a complete 360* and from side to side with minimal force. However, the other belt and part of the pulley does not spin at all by hand. It looks as almost it has separated from itself and is just doing its own thing at this time. So I am currently running off of battery power. At some points during my wonderful jouneys around town, the belt will catch providing some sort of help from my alternator. I figure I need to get a light weight one anyways, and again looks like ill be riding my ninja again in 30*F weather for a while longer. Is there anything that I can do to have a temp fix until I get a chance to order the part, or am I SOL?

'Power Pulleys' don't do squat. What you are seeing is the rubber elastomer between the outer ring and inner hub have failed on your harmonic damper. You need a new harmonic damper. Without one you will experience early valve float at best, or a snapped crank snout at worst.

My cousin had the same issue on his 92 Accord. Went to the junkyard and snagged another one: Problem resolved.

PS. You may also need to loosen the motor mount on that side for it to come out. It's a easy task.
