I am in the middle of purchasing a 93 si hatchback rolling shell and i would like some advise from you all. The owner is telling that the car is on none op at dmv but the car has been refereed. what does this mean to me? am i going to have trouble with dmv when i go to register the car or am what am i going to be dealing with? has anyone dealt with something like this before?

Why do you not just call the DMV on Monday and ask?

 

i can give dmv a vin number and they can give me full information on the car?

 

It's the DEPARTMENT of MOTOR VEHICLES. What do you think?

Jeez. Just call and explain the situation.

 

The car maybe BAR'D for a different motor. The Non-op is just a status so the owner doesn't have to renew registration. You can have it taken off when you go to change the title to your name.

 

i understand the non op part i am just curious about the California ref situation with the CHP.
