95 civic ex coupe. Ls vtec built from ground up the right way. Changed dizzy, plugs, and plug wires. I checked everything like 5 times I even checked for power from the harness on the dizzy plug and nothing but when I unhook the engine harness and check I get power, I changed the engine harness also and ecu but still no spark. I'm getting fuel and grounds are clean and hooked up, and fuses are good, also no CELs.I need ideas because I searched and tried all the basic things.

 

If you don't have voltage at the distributor plug, then there's a broken wire or bad ignition switch.

 

Thing is before I put that motor in I had a running ls the day before. And I checked for breaks in the harness

 

Did you check the Blk/Yel wire from the distributor connector to the ignition switch using a multimeter?

Have you tested the ignition switch?

 

I didn't use a multimeter but I used a test light and theres power at that plug

 

What plug is this^?

 

i believe it is the one for the distributor plug. that he is talkign about

Reconnect the 2P distributor plug and now open the distributor and test for voltage at the Blk/Yel wire attached to the coil and igniter unit. Is there battery voltage?

 

There is 24.6

 

Battery voltage is about 12.5V, so redo your measurement.

 

what are you measuring in?

 

Ok heres a update. I have fuel and spark but zero compression

How did you go from no spark to this^?

You need to supply detailed information if you want help. How are you measuring compression?

 

I don't know how I'm getting spark now but I have and that's weird. But I bought a compression test kit, took out all the spark plugs and cut the fuel and cranked the motor. It wouldn't build compression across the board wet or dry.

 

on all 4 cylinders?

 

Check the mechanical timing.

Did you pull the 15A hood ECU fuse so that the cylinders didn't flood with fuel during the compression tests?

 

Yea

 

Do a leak down test to see where compression is lost.
