Ball Joint Rubbing!
I have a problem that I still cant find a way to fix..so it started with the front right tire..i had no problems whatsoever when accelerating or braking..but when i turned i would hear a slight rub on the front right tire..i assumed it was the brake pads or rotors..so i didnt pay much attention to it figured id wait till the weekend to fix..but then the following night..as soon as i took the car out i didnt even make it to the corner of my block when both front tires started making a LOUD scraping sound..it barely wanted to accelerate it felt like something was stopping the tires..
So the next day i took it apart and i found major like indents in the inside of both rotors..like something had dug into them really bad.. honestly i didnt think much of it so i just bought new rotors and brakepads.. when i finished changing them out as soon as i reversed...there went the scraping again..Im not exaggerating when i say that i only reversed probably like 20 feet and when i took the wheels off the new rotors looked like the old ones already.... =\ .. so i took off the bumper and say that the lower ball joints were digging into the back of the rotors...they had made a hole through the shield and dug into the rotors...so I ended up changing both lower ball joints..and thinking the problem was fixed....it wasnt...the ball joints still rub...i tried adjusting my camber kit all different kinds of ways..but nothing...i even took it off and went back to stock...camber and still rubs!....what could be the problem????? ...its an ek coupe btw
Only thing ive done lately was get the car aligned....and that was like 3 days before the problem started...ive found a few other threads on here with the same problem but havent seen a solution..SOMEONE PLEASE HELP! IS BECOMING A HEADACHE =\

If the ball joint is rubbing on the rotor, that must be the lower ball joint, right? If it's the lower ball joint then why are you even concerned with your camber kit?
Post pics of what's happening because it's not making 100% sense as you've written it.

Are you lowered really far down? ITR swap maybe? Ball joint scraping into the rotor?

Possibly you need to post pictures to see if it is the same issue. Kinda hard to envision it without pics.

I just had this problem on my '99 hatch. It started when I did a big-brake upgrade using prelude rotors Type R calipers and machined Type R caliper brackets. The new rotors are offset about 3mm inward. I also have buddy club lower ball joints. The problem came only when I was going into a steep driveway or cornering really hard. At first I thought the bearings were worn and the rotor/hub was deflecting and rubbing on the caliper bracket. I did a quick check with the car jacked up and that wasn't it. So I took everything apart, disconnected the strut and moved the suspension up and down, and that's when I discovered the LCA was contacting the rotor. So my cheap broke-Honda-guy solution was to grind about 3mm off the end of the LCA. Problem solved. I have since learned that there are spacers available to push the rotor out 3mm from the hub so you can do the ITR brake rotors without machining the brackets. Just keep in mind it pushes the wheels out 3mm too. Hope this helps.
Sorry for not posting pics, tried to explain as best as I could. But it looked almost identical as the pics in the thread that "grumblemarc" posted but mine was rubbing alot worse =\ I ended up having a friend help me change out the cross member with different lower control arms and bought new wheel rods. Used the same spindles, so far the ball joints still seem to be pretty close to the rotor but not rubbing anymore :D hope it stays that way!
If by any chance the problem starts up again i might have to look into those spacers ^^ thanks for the suggestion! Appreciate the help.

I can understand what LSVTEC is saying about building a hybrid suspension that causes clearance issues (extended ball joints & prelude rotors). But this slvrcvc guy hasn't given us any info on his setup. It just sounds like he's replacing everything over and over again. Some people have a lot of money to burn.
And what the hell is a wheel rod?
I think donut is on the right track. If you didn't have the problem before, and then one day it started......it's probably from the angle of the hub changing in relation to the knuckle. But without knowing what the suspension setup is, who knows.

i have a similar issue. balljoint and lca rub on the dust shield, which gets pushed into the rotor and grinds periodically.
the cause for me is due to my ITR front brakes, and being lowered about 2 inches in the front. i'm runnning a 400lb front spring, which is not stiff enough to limit the travel so that they don't rub... but it's a track and a weekend driver...
