Default long tube torque monster, how would you improve this design?

this miata should have some more grunt at the track...

i consulted a friend after having built this and he mentioned the only change he'd make would be to have a straighter section of exhaust path right off the head before it bends. what do you think?

I think it looks good the way it is. Should flow properly and Make the Miata Squat. lol

what is the technical difference between those and full length 4-1 primaries, vs. the 4-2-1?, when I get my accord finished, it will be interesting to see what it will do with the dual carbs on long tube intake runners plus the 4-1 full length header, I'm shooting for torque of course, the old A20s actually produce more torque then horsepower, so it will be interesting. Do you have any clearance issues on the bottom of the car with the tubes? I'm at stock height and thinking of skid plates even now. Every factory downpipe has a big dent in it standard equipment

stepped primaries and shorter secondaries would have likely netted you more area under the curve, IMO.

The 4-2-1 design makes for a much broader power curve. The 4-1 design is peaky, and gives up quite a bit of low-mid range.
I love the tight and long radius 180's off of the head, looks really well planned.
Fantastic work, should be a great driver.
I do agree with a stepped design, but not as important with the 4-2-1 since it has gradual expansion in the design. Still a benefit I think though.
I hope you used 18ga, as 16 could end up heavier than the original!

Aaron, other then a few minor things i see with tube lay out/ location of weld joints the header looks very good. I'm not an expert in exhaust theory so i won't comment on design.

Looks awesome Aaron! I really like how that came out. Like bells said, with the 4-2-1 I think you will get a good all around with out losing all the bottom end power.

What are the primary and secondary lengths? It looks like the middle 2 runners are a little short, i'd have gone straight out of the head first if possible, probably not.
