Bent underskirting
Not sure what this is called, but it looks like molded plastic that extends back from underneath the bumper and seems to be designed to shield the engine from underneath. As you can see in the pic, the part closer to the driver side is bent - I assume from the prior owner reversing the car over some obstacle that was high enough to snag this plastic underskirt/shield.

What are my options? Leave it alone? Cut off the bent section? Try to bend it back and somehow secure it to something in the engine bay?
What is this part called? I can see how much a replacement would cost.

Mossberg,
I believe that part is called the Front Splash Shield (OEM p/n 74111-S84-000) and runs about $58.28 at hondapartsnow.com and $80+ at your local dealer. Seeing as though the shield is relatively inexpensive, I'd advise replacing the whole unit rather than removing the frayed portion of it and drive around with a fraction of your undercarriage exposed to road debris.
Good luck!

I agree, for that price, replacement seems like the most effective solution.
I wonder if I can get one even cheaper at a salvage yard...
You can try, but often times this is one of those plastic bits that gets hammered pretty well. The piece itself may be intact but the bolt holes and plastic buttons used to hold on the tray may be oblonged or damaged, not allowing for correct attachment.
Good point. Probably not worth trying unless I can get it cheap enough that I won't mind tossing it if it doesn't work.
Interesting idea. I'll ask around and see if anyone I know has a heat gun. Couldn't hurt to try. Worst case it's a total fail and I replace it as I was planning to do anyway.
The plastic seems pretty thick. Any idea on how powerful a heat gun it would take?
Edit: Looks like I can probably find a heat gun rental.

I'm going to try the heat gun approach to repair this. Should I try to do this in place, or am I better off removing the splash shield and then heating it up and bending it back?
