ECU Locations and Do's and Don'ts
Need help finding my ECU. Could someone give me the Run down on ECU Do's and Don'ts, how to tune it how to flash or short it to get the codes? I'm clueless any help would awesome.
On the '94 from your sig line?
Right hand wall in passenger wheel well under dashboard. There is a female two port (blue) connector. Put any wire that will fit in one port and the other end of the wire in the second port to 'jump' the connectors. This will activate your Check Engine Light. Count how many times it flashes. Long flashes equal '10' and a short flash a '1'. Keep in mind there may be multiple codes, so keep watching. The will continue to loop through all codes until you remove the wire. So a one long and one short light would be an '11'. Use that code to look up the problem.
If you need to reset the ECU disconnect the battery (or the negative cable) for 30 minutes. (I have read as little as 10, but have never confirmed.)

There are quite a few detailed threads on the "paperclip method" for retrieving the Diagnostic trouble codes from your ECU. If you search for self diagnostics it should give you some threads with more information. Also there is no way to tune/chip your Accords stock ECU. A few of the OBD1 Civic and Integra ECUs are the ones that are modified for tuning with DIY/tuning software.
