Default FCSRace.com looking for testers

this is jason from FCSRace.com some of you may know us from the drag forums, which we normally lurk here on ht. we are currently really enjoying some road and time attack events we have been attending and noticed some of you guys have been inquiring that we introduce our product line to road race guys.

FCSRace.com is looking to find a couple of dedicated road/time attack hondas that are willing to test our drag proven 5 gallon tanks and our newest 9 gallon fuel cells for 2012.

since we are mainly drag race gear heads, we do not own a road car (as of yet) so we are in need of vehicles that will be willing to test our units out. so far we have been getting positive feed back from clients, but nothing solid state. we are looking for data for anyone who is willing to put in a little effort to receive our race proven product line in exchange for some media, and product feedback.

we are constantly trying to improve on our products, mfg'd inhouse 100% in the USA! as small business it is tuff to provide a successful working shop and go racing ALL THE TIME! lol much as we like to, we want to try and use the community to help us achieve our goals and provide some serious sponsorships in the process. a win, win situation for all.

currently our 5 gallon tanks complete only weigh in at 7.9 lbs. (with all the bolts straps etc!)
our 9 gallon unit weighs only 11 lbs! so there is a potential huge weight savings depending on how much fuel you like to carry compared to the oem tanks which is 32 lbs+!

5 gallon fuel cell with fuel level sender unit (oem cluster)

9 gallon fuel cell with sender (come std)

here are the terms:

if anyone is willing to try one out please email us a 1 page proposal and details about your car/team.

this is not a sale thread. any inquiries please pm me or email to the address above. thanks! happy racing!

What is to stop the tank from sliding side to side?

Also the pickup is lower than the rear crossmember, it won't survive unfortunately.

For SCCA road racing, that tank would not be legal as it is not the stock tank and it is not a true FIA/SFI fuel cell with a rubber bladder inside. Would probably work for autocross and for some classes of cars in Time Trial though.

Is it legal for NASA ? , plus for endurance racing it is too small.

Nice looking unit, can you tell us more about them?
I agree Marcel we'd need at a minimum of a 10-12 gallon tank.

not likely... it would need the same FIA/SFI fuel cell rating as the SCCA. i'm 99% sure on this.

Yeah most racing organizations require FIA/SFI certified fuel cells.

From Rally America rules:

5.7. FUEL CONTAINERS
A. No fuel other than that carried in the OE fuel tank or FIA FT-3 or higher
fuel cell bladder shall be carried in any vehicle.
NASA Rallysport rules
3.6.10.2 Approved Fuel Cells
The original fuel tank may be replaced or supplemented by a fuel
cell which is from a manufacture approved by the FIA meeting
FT3 1999, FT3.5 and or FT 5 specifications. The fuel cell(s) must
be installed in a metal container(s).
The manufacturer, the model, the exact specifications according
to which this tank has been manufactured, the homologation
number, the date of end of validity, and the series number, must
be printed on the fuel cell.

it is a nice unit but again if it is a fuel cell then needs to be certified and if I'm not mistaken also has to have paperwork. I don't mind testing one if it fits in the rules.
Time attack uses almost a copy of NASA's rule book, plus they are not sanctioned as far as I know.

It hangs lower than the straps, the straps are level with the cross member. Once you go off roading with it, the pick up area will get damaged.

you'd have to dukes-of-hazzard jump a car to bottom it that low....look at the mounting points of the crossmember....its higher up that those, and i've NEVER been able to get anything to hit those, and i've had a few UGLY offs.

Not legal for nasa either. Fuel cel rules and regulations are quite specific. Fia/sfi and they need to be dated and inspected.

Someone say jump a Civic?

But I also cover my fuel tank with 1/8" aluminum.

note that our units sump does not hang lower then the oem tank. food for thought. if your gonna damage our tank trust me when i say your oem tank will prolly look alot worse then our constructed cells.

for as i know time attack events do not have an issue with our units.

an hour later he won the gp2 championship that year. then he bragged about it jokingly for the last 6 years.

my life used to be fun.

I would love to help you (and myself in the process), though I need to get some clarification on the series that I run in and whether or not the lack of FIA/SFI certification will be prohibitive.
