99 accord temp gauge fluctuating.
Hello all! I have a 99 accord with 305,000 miles. Recently I have noticed that the temp gauge will all of a sudden drop all the way down, then a few minutes later come back to normal. It never goes high, it seems to just not sense anything and go back to where it starts when the car is off. The coolant level is good.
Any idea what's happening??
Thanks for your time.
Jeffrey

You checked the coolant level in the radiator and not just the reservoir?
If so, then check the temp. gauge sender wire connector, it should be a one wire connector under the distributor. (This is for a 4 cylinder, if it is a 6 cylinder, let me know.)
If wire and connector are good and coolant level is good, it may be the gauge sender unit.
