looking for a YS1 anyone know where to get one?
GSR. i want short gear ratios and the ability to rebuild it using USDM parts. i also want to put my current Y1 LSD in it
If it's the YS1 USDM GSR tranny then I wish you luck because they are very hard to find. I got the deal of a lifetime back in the spring when I bought a 92 YS1 from a local junkyard which was supposed to be an LS and it ended up being the GSR for only $200. I'd hate to see the look on the person's face who bought the GSR and got the LS though.

Another funnny thing was they promised me the intermediate shaft with the deal but it turned up missing before I picked up the tranny. So the guy lets me on the lot and told me whatever I could carry within reason, I could take to make up for the missing intermediate shaft. I found a smashed 96 GSR way in the back. I took the center console, leather arm rest, gauge cluster and a few other goodies too - That was my "lucky day"

so guys sohfast.com has 92-93 GSR transmission available. is tihs the elusive YS1? and they want 1000 for it!~~ : / ill pay it if i have to, but i wanna know if this is what im looking for
If you really want one...I bought a YS1 LSD from Zum01 (Tim), Only bad thing about the deal was he promised to send one in a week and it took 6 weeks to do so. I heard he scammed some peeps too but he at least came through with me, so I dont know about that. From 1 to 10, i would rate him a 3 for customer service. To protect yourself, insist on getting and escrow charge on your items...you may have to pay more but these days, I think thats the only way to go...or you can do pick ups. Good luck...oh, I paid him $708 shipped from So.Cal to Northern California. He didnt charge me for shipping for letting me wait.
