Default ok, is a inline fuel pump necessary for my set-up? (look inside)

first off,

DID the search! sooooo, this is what I'm gathering from my research

I'm running the a greddy kit at 7-8 psi, blue box isn't working for me

I have Greddy 310 injectors (not RC)
I currently have a vortech 12:1 fmu

Soo my questions are, Is an inline fuel pump necessary for this amount of boost?

and

8:1 seems to be the preferred disks while others argue that 10:1 and 6:1 are better for (insert reasoning) can anybody enlighten me on this?

like always, TIA

BTW, I will be posting a pic of my pump, I have no damn clue what goes where, if you guys could let me know that would be cool also

Mick

Yes, you need an inline pump with an FMU setup, and 12:1 seems pretty high for 310s.

yea go with 8:1 because 12:1 fmu disk is too high. Im running 8:1 with intank fuel pump and vafc. If you go 12:1 use an inline pump, otherwise if you go 8:1 its ok to use an intank cause fuel pressure will not be as high

are you running the blue box AND the 12:1 FMU? if so that could be the source of your problems

No, I'm sorry,

I meant to say, I use to run the blue box but I took it out for the FMU,

so it's ok to use an INTANK fuel pump with 310's and 8:1???

NO! you need an inline fuel pump to be able to feed the FMU the pressure it needs to properly function.

INLINE WITH AN FMU

How do you know that you are not detonating? Had your a/f ratio measured with a bideband o2 sensor NO! I promise you that if you get it measured you will be lean. YOU NEED high pressure to operate the FMU corectly. end of story. A intank 255 lph pump is not enough.

Do the math and tell me what your max fuel pressure is, and what are the output ratings are for the 255lph pump?
