Rear Drum brakes...hanging up/questions (poss ebrake seize)
Got a 2000 civic lx thats got rear drums on the rear. Today I go out (40 degrees here) and throw it in reverse and it feels like I ran over a stump. The other day I noticed a slight whistle as well when I put it in reverse.
It only happens in reverse, it almost feels like I have the E-brake on.
So, sounds like I got a seized (or seizing ebrake cable) right?
I NEVER use the ebrake (cept very rarely in the snow, lol) so it would make sense if she seized up.
I am about to go pull the rear drums off and see what I can find. If its the ebrake, the cable would be seized up, can I just oil it up or do I have to change?
Thanks in advance.
Note: e brake goes up and down, and seems to work fine....

Pull off the drums and assess the damage. It's hard to say without being there. A seized e brake cable is pretty common if you don't use it that often.
