Just wondering if anyone else has ran into this issue. I own a 97 LX and I found the rear trailing arm rotting out where the lower control arm bolts to it. I had a friend who had his break on his 92 CX. Is this an OEM only item? Thanks, any info is appreciated.
God, that would be some very bad rust.
I can see it happening though.
There is noithing wrong with picking up a used trailing arm, and swaping it in. With that said, I haven't seen aftermarket trailing arms.
other then those drop trailing arm things. But theres only 1 company I know of making them.

Swap it for integra rear disk brakes might as well since you would be replacing the trailing arms anyway if you did that I would strip the arms and repaint them with some rustoleum so they don't rot in the future
Your much better off heading to the junk yard finding some clean trailing arms, and pick up some new bushings for them. OEM/Hardrace/PIC. Mugen if your a baller.

Ha, I hear ya..well with the new edition to the family in the form of my daughter it may have to hold off. Just don't know if I can find clean ones here in western PA.
I've seen it happen a few times. I live in an area with a lot of salt and even here it's rare. I attribute it to cars being parked in the grass personally. Find some used trailing arms. Btw they're about $300 each new from Honda with the bushings IIRC.
I have a car ('98 Civic coupe) with Energy Suspension trailing arm bushings. I would not recommend them for daily use or for a comfortable ride. I do have more mods than just that, but they didn't help. People bump their heads in the back seat.
I have an '88 CRX with brand new OE bushings as well. This car feels a lot more on the road than the Civic would feel with comparable suspension. Nice, smooth, comfortable ride with the new OE bushings. They each cost me about $65 or so iirc.
