will the sockets from a orginal hid headlight be compatible w/ the new non hid headlight? or do i need to do some splicing for the wire to accommodate the 9006 bulbs? actually what is a 9006 bulb? is it different from an h1 or h4?
actually the hid version was just plug n play to the oem ballast.. im wondering if i get a replacement which is a non hid headlight, how can i connect the non hid bulb to the stock harness? is it also plug n play or do i need some modification? ** the car is a authentic jdm itr dc5 2002

i see.. i would try to get oem headlights.. reason being, the focal point will be off and the glare will be increased.. i wouldnt really recommend it..
if you still decide to go that route, here is an adaptor you could use to hook up your oem ballast to an aftermarket hid h1 bulb.. http://www.theretrofitsource.com/pro...roducts_id=244

ignitor looks something like this.. it connects to the bulb..

the d2r bulb end looks like this..

together it looks something like this

just twist the ignitor counter clockwise and pull it off the bulb..

i suggest oem not aftermarket.. osram, philips, ge.. are you still getting an aftermarket headlight? again the cutoff isnt going to be the same as the oem hid version
i got no choice but to get new bulbs.. the other is busted.. a frend is offering me a new kit of d2r bulbs w/ ballast (aftermarket) i forgot the brand but its not philips. il have to postpone on getting a new headlight and stick with the original... shall i go for the new kit or just look for some new bulbs only?
well the one headlight got messed up when i bought the car it was sanded but the finish was hazy. so i got a blured headlight.. then the oem bulb busted maybe its really old.. its hard in here to get oem d2r (in the philippines), quite expensive! i was offered a xenon d2r hid kit.. will it do?
the headlight was wet sanded and a clear coat was applied to it.. unfortunately when the headlight heated up it caused the clear coat to form a permanent haze... im planning to wet sand it again to remove the layer of clear coat and re do the whole thing though..
yeah wetsand it down until you get the clear off then buff it out.. since its just the lens thats messed up, find some broken dc2/rsx headlights with good lenses then just switch them out... you dont need the rear housing to be good since the ones on your car are good.. just heat up the housings to get the lenses off..
