Default extreme rough idle below 3000k

I recently bought a 89 civic hatchback. The previous owner really messed up alot of the wiring in the car. After fixing that i did a mpfi swap and now the car is running extremely rough below 3000 rpms. I know that the timing is extremely retarded. I have the distributor all the way advanced just to get it to run. Ive tried searching and the closest thing that sounds like my problem is having the c1 and c2 switched, but i have checked and they are wired up right. any help would be greatly appreciated.

you just did MPFI swap.
so are all your injectors firing?
a dead injector can make the car run shitty until the rpms are up and then the engine speed will smooth out the roughness a bit.

just a thought.

Ill check that tomorrow. The car pulls pretty hard above 3000 rpms so i figured they were ok. The car also wants to bog at low rpms to. I forgot to say that earlier

The injector ohm out the same. So I dont think its a injector problem. I am getting a code 1 now. Any other ideas? Any clue on the timing issue?

the other half of that test would be to check the injector driver circuits with a noid light. Is every injector receiving a signal?

Ignition Timing?
Switch the TPS wires appropriately?

just throwing ideas out there.

I switched tps wires. My timing is way off. I have my distibutor all the way advanced just to get the car to somewhat idle right. With the distributor in the center of the slider, the car actually popped back through the intake.

so your sure that wires c1 is to b10 and c2 is to b12 on the ecu? are you using the si dizzy? redo your timing and make sure your on point. check all your vacuum lines. and clean out your IACV

Ill check the iacv. I traced the wires. C1 is going to b10. I sprayed carb cleaner around the intake to look for leaks. Nothing. How far off can the ait sensor throw off the timing?
