Default Idle going crazy, help please

Ok as some of you may already know I have a 92 civic vx w/ a LS B20b. The car has been idling rough when first started since the swap was done, so today we noticed that the timing was advanced all the way and the fuel press was way high. We adjusted the timing back some and tried to turn the B&M press. reg. down but it wasn't responding, I was told this can be a common problem w/ them, so we removed it and noticed that the O ring was missing, wasn't sure why this thing hadn't been leaking, but anyways we replaced it with a stock GSR press. reg. The car seems to be running alittle stronger now, but here's the problem when I go to stop the idle is fine but as i'm sittin there it starts flux. up and down from like 800-1000, 1000 is where we tried to set it and I noticed tonight the same problem was a little worse it was going from like 500- 900 at some times. Can't figure it out, any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED.

check the air idle control valve and the pvc, more than likely is the air idle control valve behind the intake man.

if it only does it when the car is cold its most likely your fast idel thermo valve ..but if it does it when its warm too it could be a dirty iacv

with the engine running, quickly and very tightly squeeze the hose to the pcv. it should click

I'd take the IACV off the manifold and spray it out it's probobly clogged to hell... don't bother disconnecting the coolant lines... just un-bolt it and spray it out...

I use carb/choke cleaner... ALLEGEDLY you're not supposed to but I've never used anything but and never had a problem.

The pcv like mentioned... to check it you pinch the hose coming out of it going to the intake manifold... you should hear/feel a click...

It's a 4 dollar part though... I'd just replace it.

*edit*
Also check your coolant level... It's most likely not the cause as when it is the idle is usually MORE erratic (1k-2.5k up and down). but it's worth a look.

yea, thanks for the info, we also checked the coolant and even flushed the air out to see if there were bubbles in the coolant system, but thanks to everyone's input I'll check the pcv & aicv and see what happens. PEACE
