Icon3 Trunk leaks!!!!!!!!

Hey I just got a 93 civic ex coupe and I saw water start to build up in my trunk. My da9 had the same and I unclogged some drain holes under the car by the tow hook. Are civic coupes the same way? And if not where can I troubleshoot the leak? Any help would be appreciated thanks.

the rubber that seals the trunk, or even the taillight gasket might be bad....

Get some silicone clear caulk stuff and spread it around the rim of the trunk, under the the edges of the lid if that makes sense. There is a seam there that usually seperates. This is probably your problem. To find the leak, get in the car and have a friend spray it with the hose, then you can see where the water is entering.

what i would do is take a hose narrow it down from where its leaking from by pouring water onto the trunk and replacing that gasket silicone is only a temporary fix... its probably your tail light gaskets they go bad after all these years

I siliconed it when I bought my Civic in 2006 and it's still dry, if that's what you call temporary. We may be talking about something different, but it worked great for me (I have a 96-00).

lay in the trunk with a flashlight, have someone take a water hose and spray the seams of the trunk and see if water is coming through anywhere, if not, there is likely to be a hole in the bottom of your trunk.
