Over the past month my engine has been doing what is described in the title, im guessing its the timing belt(its the original one with 187xxx miles on it). Does anyone else have an idea what it could be other than that?

 

burns oil. it is certainly not timing belt. check compression

 

I thought that it could be cracked rings but I didnt think that would cause it to stall when idling

perform a cylinder leakdown test, if you can't do it, take it to someone who can, post the results.

 

update: Im sad to say that I flipped my car last night and totaled it... No one was hurt but the engine has a knock now along with both axles being bent, so now im going to part it out... PM if your looking for something (it was a 92 si)
