Default Throttle cable problem

So my throttle cable was sticking when I first got my crx. Been building the car since then. So I ordered a new cable and it turned out to be not the right cable. It is a bit longer but still hooks up the same at the throttle body and the pedal. So I got it installed, just had some extra cable to loop around.

But heres my question. The little rubber piece at the very end of the cable (pedal end) is compressing when I push the accel. pedal. This leaves like an two inches of pedal travel before the cable is pulled and the engine revs. Is the rubber piece supposed to compress when you hit the gas?
I put a little worm clamp around the rubber piece and it helped but it still compresses a little before pulling the cable. And the pedal doesn't feel right.

I was stupid and threw away the stock cable when I switched them out so I don't have anything to compare.

i think you have a dx cable, and you need an si. if you cant exchange the cable, bite the bullet and buy the proper cable.

Are the throttle pedals different between the different models?
The problem Is at the pedal end with the little rubber piece,
can someone look at theres and see when the pedal is pressed, does the rubber piece collapse?

Here is the rubber piece I'm talking about. This piece is collapsing when I push the throttle pedal.

Yea, The problem turned out to be the crappy aftermarket rubber bushing, I found my old cable in the trash and the bushing is like a hard rubber. The new aftermarket cable that I got the bushing is very soft and compresses when the pedal is pushed. Looks like I'm gonna have to get an oem cable.
