Stock ITR Front Brake Calipers...Used OEM or RE-Mann'd?
Hi Fellas, I'm picking up parts to change out the standard 1990-2001 integra front brake calipers and 10 inch rotors on my dads track crx(91 integra knuckles) as well as my street car(98 integra knuckles) to integra type-r/ctr/accord wagon/ ect. calipers and 11 inch rotors.
I've found myself in an interesting position. A used oem nissin set of calipers will cost pretty much the same as a remanufactured set. So being that they are about the same price in the end, if you were doing this particular upgrade, would you go for the used oem calipers or the remanufactured ones?
I realize this sounds like some what of a trivial question, but bare with me. I honestly think I might be better off with used oem calipers over the re-manned units. What would you go with? I don't know that I would trust a re-manned part that is as important as a brake caliper.
Thanks for your thoughts and opinions.

So if you would take a used oem and rebuild, then whats the difference in getting reman'd?
It's been rebuilt, its newer in parts and seals than old oem?
Soooo common sense says newer would last longer?
IDK seems trivial

Er, um remanufactured calipers are used OEM calipers....
IMO, used, brakes, and track are not words that all go together. And, rebuilding calipers is about the easiest thing in the automotive world. $20 for a hone and some compressed air to pop out the pistons. Honda rebuild kits have every wear part except for the slider pins, and even include little packets of both lubricants you need.

the main problem i've had with non OEM rebuild kits is the dust boots melting way way way fast.
if its an OEMparts-rebuild, done correctly, and everything is in good shape,i'd worry very little.
these calipers are remarkably durable. way more than they should be.

I have been running a set of reman'd ITR calipers that I got from Brian at Fastbrakes for the past two years.
I have cooked the **** out of them while I experimented with pad compunds and all components are fine.

Looks like I'm going to go with remanufactured calipers and just look them over carefully before installing them. I guess now the only thing I'm going to twiddle my thumbs about is: Do I want one large piston, or two smaller pistons?
The legend gs dual piston caliper has crossed my mind just for the sake of getting slightly more even pad wear. I don't plan to flip sides like most people do if I use them because that kind of defeats the purpose of a dual piston setup all together. I believe flipping them actually induces uneven wear because of the slightly different caliper piston sizes. Maybe someone can correct me on that if I'm mistaken. I would just flip them up and bleed them using a piece of wood to act as the rotor and pads.
Thanks very much guys, I can always count on the road race section for educated opinions.
Oh and Lo-Buck, what were you asking for your calipers and do they come with the brackets?
