Brake Light Switch Testing....
Hey guys im kinda a noob here but how can I test a brake light switch a 96 accord? I know if it was the to pin one I can just jump it but just my luck its a 4 pin wire.
I want to check it because my brake lights arent turning on at all and I cant shift out of parking for some reason.

Thanks for your help but I already got down and took the brake switch off hence the (how to test a brake light switch) but its a 4 pin connector so it got me a bit confused
is the switch actually broken? when you push the little button what happens? were your breaklights stuck on with no keys in the ignition?
ive had this problem on a 92 prelude and 97 accord, both times it was just this little tab that falls off the pedal after a while.
silly, if you ask me.

Bro I tried to be nice the 1st time but you need to read what I write before replying with random things. The switch isnt broken in the outside but might be in the inside.
Thanks but to make things worse the harness burned lol my dad decided to put a bigger fuse and instead of the fusing breaking the cables did. just my luck. So now I need to find out where those 4 cables come from. I followed it to where it meets the all the cables but then splits right above the inside fuse box.any idea where it leads to?

Ok so ive read and read and found out that my stoplight switch is always getting power on one connection but which one of the 4?

also I read that the other 3 go to the fuse panel under the dash but I dont know where exactly. I know its a green white cable but there are just so many lol This is the panal
If I can just hook up a positive and a negative and not use the cruise control connections I think it should work. where are my honda experts! lol I hate electric diagrams

Did you solve it??.....same thing happened to me on my 97 accord, i had a short circuit now the stop light in the dashboard won't go off, all bulbs are fine, new sensor, fuses OK and don't wanna waste money on a switch without testing it first.
thanks
