quietting my car
so I have a 90 civic hatch and its got a full catback exhaust with headers. Now before you go and say if you didnt want your car to be loud whyd you do that? well i bought it that way, I was wondering if i threw a borla exhaust muffler on if itd get rid of the rasp and give it a deeper tone. the loudness isnt what pisses me off, its the rasp. id do a cat delete and glasspack it but i heard they fall apart after awhile. please help!
I agree high flow cat and maybe a resinator to get it a bit more quiet. Mine has 2 resinators and the bigger muffler at the end. No raspy sound just a bit louder than what I like.
i was thinkign that, the thing is i want to sell the car to get either an EG, or go back to volkswagon or get a WRX. idk im on the fence of things,e specialy since my engine block blew up*facepalm* luckily my buddy has a d16 block that im buying for 75 bucks hahah
A resonator is always the best way to tame your exhaust sound. The longer they are the better they work. My own car, i run two of them, the car sounds amazing!

My Trust/Greddy exhaust has 2 resonators as well and it sounds perfect. The resonators are 10" and 14" if I recall correctly and they make a huge difference. When I auto-X, I remove the axle back and because of the resonators, it sounds deep without any rasp - without the muffler.
i used to run straight pipe no cat/resonator back to a shitty can muffler and it was raspy as f*ck
now i run no cat with a turbo resonator and a OBX dual tip axle back muffler. i LOVE the sound its deep but not to loud, no rasp at all. check into it
