It is not normal, but can happen. Sure it is not the valve gasket? Clean up the area and double check, can you take a pic and post?

still runs fine but if i push on it i can smell oil,it only seems to be around the dipstick no where else.If it is the gasket with where its leaking would that mean the head is warped?then would it be easier to replace the gasket or should i swap in the ls/v i have sitting?sorry for the noob questions but its my 1st honda and its diff. than the camaro's im used to working on

Sounds like an easily fixed leak from the valve cover gasket.

That doesn't mean they were installed correctly from the get go.

Valve cover gasket is 12 bucks...and a 20 minute job. Id start there

When you do the valve gasket you need to put some silcone, or hondabond in the corners too.

What about the crank seal.

had it checked out in a local shop that did clutch and flywheel for me they said the rear main and the shitty tap in the oil pan were the only leaks and i had them replace the rear main i did the cam seal and valve cover gasket myself and i could tell it was the valve cover gasket but now its leaking lower where i cant see with the header in the way.Header is new so im not sure if it was leaking b4 or not couldnt see that part of the block with the stock mani and heat shield there. Now that its cold out i cant drive it without smelling the oil burnin.guess i need to know if it is the head gasket would that mean that something is warped and if i swap the c1 for the ls/v do i need to change anything?

The picture is is not clear enough or properly angled to see where oil is leaking from.

headgasket general leaks coolant.....

and you'd generally have other symptoms. Are you losing coolant?

I see it now. Looks like somebody overtorqued that missing stud above sometime in the past. Why is it missing?

Is the crack right behind the the dipstick tube? Right where the top of the tube and stick part enters you mean?

If you read any of the posts above you will see that he has already said the previous owner over torqued it.
