96 Civic, Brake lights interfere with signals lights.
I am new to this forum but have been lurking for a while. Well now i have an issue which i felt a need to ask about. I have a 96 Civic Ex coupe which is having issues with the signal lights. They work fine, and flash normally, but when i hit the brake pedal the brake lights come on and my signals shut off. As long as i hold down the brake pedal and brake lights are on, i am completely unable to make signals flash. They will resume flashing once ive let go of the brake pedal. Hazard lights also have the same issue. I have checked and cleaned / re tightened the g601 ground in rear to no avail. Any ideas what may be causing brake lights to interfere with signals?
Thanks in advance.

Is the wiring for your rear lights modified or is it completely stock?
Are only the rear turn signal lights affected or both front and rear?
For the black ground wire in the brake light socket, what resistance to body ground do you measure?

Any other electrical problems?
Does pressing the brake pedal also prevent the front parking lights from working?
Does having the parking lights on also prevent the turn signals from working?
Does your cruise control work?
Auto or manual transmission? Do you have ABS?
