Like grinding when you put it in gear or just cruising? If its while cruising ill bet that your exhaust is resting against the shift linkage causing it to vibrate and make noise. My car has done it before I just had to tweak the angle of the piping to get it away from the linkage. Put the car up on four jack stands and crawl up underneath and see if the exhaust is indeed touching it.

yeah, i didnt really think of that. my car has a short shifter too which would make the linkage closer to the exhaust... and its 5th gear cruising that i hear it. so in 5th it would be closest to the exhaust.

I just changed my axleback recently too.... i will check tomorrow when i have the car on the stands to crank down the coils.

Cheers,
Matt
