Default Sputtering into vtec

hey guys. Here is my problem. My car drive fine and all and pulled hard and nice. Its a k24a2 in a 02 rsx. I dropped into third and then threw it into fourth and the car started to sputter and have like no power. The car drives perfect in low rpms and what not. Perfect idle and all. But now at full throttle it goes fine until i hit vtec and bam like no power and sputtering.

any help would be much appreciated. I just placed the plugs like 2 months ago and i wanna put good ones in. Which do you guys suggest?

please help. feel free to text me 954-328-6166

thanks ahead of time.

These were my plugs and they look good.

I replaced them with brand new ngk iridiums and same crap.

car pops vtec but then there is no power and sputters.....

Check your oil.. vtec won't engage if there's not enough oil pressure. And please don't say "pop vtec".. sounds lame as fVck

ok well vtec engages but doesnt do anything. Which intern means vtec meets its requirements to engage but just perform.

Car Was driving perfect the way it was for 5 months. Then dropped in third to pass a semi and thTs when it all started. Nothing has changed on my set up. I just dropped gear and pushed the car. Car right now still drives fine until full throttle is applied. Vtec still engages.

Yes, you can clean it. You'll want to replace the gasket too.

UPDATE. When I first got car compression check was 195-190-190-200 and now after this incident it is 195-190-150-200. I dropped a little oil in cylinder to see weather it was a valve or ring and If it were rings the oil would seal them and the compression would spike but if it was a valve then the oil would escape and compression would stay the same. Well the compression did not move.....

What u guys think? Bent valve? Seal? There is not ticking, knocking, tocking. Anything motor is silent......

Fried piston rings. Now the mad scientist is going to have to rip your motor apart to fix it.

if it was fried piston rings then when i did my wet test the oil would of sealed the rings and the compression would of spikes. Since the compression did not budge that leads to a bent valve.

and when i put my ear closer to the vc i hear a loud tapping.

Like a cam lobe got grinded off? There would be allotr of metal shavings in your oil. Drain your oil into a clean pan and cut your filter open to look for shavings

Ok so a little update. Car pops vtec now and then looses a little power and then around 5500-6000 it starts to sputter. I haven't done anything. Just put head back on an that's all.
