Should I HONDACARE?
Car has been consuming a reasonable amount of oil. About a quart and a half every 4K, nothing totally abnormal, but I'm looking to boost come spring. The car itself has roughly 60K on it, and I'm wondering if I should schedule a service appt with my dealer. Problem is, I need to pull the Invidia header and put the stock one back on which is a PITA. Is it worth me taking it in when it only burns 1.5 quarts every 4K. I run Mobil1 5w30 full synth and Honda filters. I don't wanna go through the process of swapping the header if some tech is going to tell me its not burning enough to warrant an engine replacement. I remember my friend taking his GM to the dealer because it burned 2 quarts every 3K and they threw the service manual at him, saying it was an acceptable amount without needing any major repair.
Thanks,
Rob

I don't think it's worth all the work to pull all your parts off just for some dealer to tell you "you'v been beatin' on this car" that is why you are using oil.
Why not try switching oils to something with a little more body and less burn off, try Pennzoil Platinum, or Motor Craft simi synthetic and see if the loss slows.
When I had cars that used oil, back in the olden days, I switched oils back then we went to thicker oils and it helped but never stopped, but slowed the loss.
