Civic just quit running...
I have a 91 ED3 D15B2 civic DPFI that had some intermittent starting issues that would signal the check engine light to come on and the ECU to display code 16. Usually disconnecting the battery and waiting 30 seconds to reconnect it would fix this issue. The other day I parked it at the convenience store and came back to the car and it wouldn't start - No check engine light or codes... I disconnected the battery and waited for everything to cool down, then tried again. Nothing. So I pulled out the main injector and had my girlfriend turn over the key to check fuel pressure - Its getting pressure to the throttle body because it sprayed a little gas out of the removed DPFI main injector port. I removed the distributor cap and checked for noticeable issues and there were none... It has a new cap, rotor, plugs, and wires... I suspected that it might be the main relay so I pulled it out and it looks like there may possibly be a dry solder joint. Here is my concern- Wouldn't the car get no fuel pressure if the main relay has bad solder joints? It still clicks once like normal. Maybe it is a bad main injector? Is there a way to test for incoming voltage to the distributor (coil / ignitor etc) to rule out the main relay if there is fuel pressure getting to the throttle body???
