Icon6 1994 Acura Integra LS ; Transmission Problem

I need some help, i cant seem to pinpoint the problem on my new Integra. Ill make this as easy to diagnose as possible. Bought the car knowing it needed a transmission, ive just replaced the bad tranny with a JDM GSR automatic transmission (auto-to-auto). The problem arose after finishing the job and testing the car, (in different positions on the auto-shifter)
  1. 1st gear works fine
  2. 2nd gear works too
  3. so does D3, however, D4 works...sometimes, it will work then it seems to slip and just rev after switching into 4th gear. (Has only been tested driving around the block).
  4. Also i havent been able to get Reverse to work at all since its been back together...
I did not fill the torque converter before re-assembling the parts. (im being told tranny fluid can cause these problems) So i overfilled the transmission when i put it together, so extra could run into the TC, well idk if its filled or full but ive got the fluid at the right place on the dipstick and ive emptied out a BIT of fluid from it. I was told 2.9 for tranny and 3.3 for TC, that sound right?

So in conclusion D4 and Reverse arent working, also the car seems to be lacking a lot of power and acceleration but the engine sounds fine in neutral. Plus, i just replaced stock exhaust with a 2.5in full exhaust system, and ive all JDM solenoids with the USDM ones from the bad tranny including the speedo sensor and both other pieces on the back, i want to know if it can be made to work, i.e. fixable, or do i possibly have a "new" ...bad transmission.

Thanks a lot for any insight you have into the problem!
