Default Timing and sparks plugs ..... help.....

Dose anybody know what I should gap my spark plug and what spark plugs to buy Also how many*degree do I set my timing back to.The motor is a 96 ls and I'm runing 8 psi and the turbo is a evo 10 turbo and what should the*fuel ratios *be at.

brk7es and 22-25 thousands.

that NGK part number might be off a lil bit, but if you search you will find it.

16 degrees base timing, under 12.0 in boost for ratio readings, and 6's are too hot.

So then leave the timing at 16 degree and gap the spark plug 22-25 right

you might wanna retard it a couple degrees if your using a FMU.

Goto xenecron.com and buy a chipping kit and basemap for like 50bux and ditch the fmu.

So set the timing back to 12-13 degree and gap the spark plug like 22-25 and fuel ratio should be around 12.00 in boost right or am I missing anything.

oh and i have my distributor timing set to 16 degrees, my dynamic timing is set to 20 at idle via ectune

Haha yes it does. Since you are living in 2003 you might want to upgrade to uberdata, I hear its the new craze and will have tons of support and updates. Also get on moates.net I hear he has this new burner called tha burn1.

( I actually still have my burn1 and it works flawlessly 7 years later)

Distributor should by synced to ectune via ignition lock routine and a timing light.

Well you sync it to 16 degrees. The ecu is constantly changing timing at idle. You lock it in ectune so the ecu stops changing it and you can properly time the engine via the dizzy only.

If you throw a timing light on the engine normally you'll notice the marks on the pulley bouncing around as the ecu is messing with things.

So this what I'm going to doing 8 psi on the evo10 turbo using a Jackson racing fmu till I have the money for a tune. fuel ratio are going to be 12.50 wot and for plugs I'm running NGK 7 gap to 28 and timing set at 13 degrees is that going to work.

i found that the 7 range plugs were too cold on my 8psi JRSC setup, remember, LS engines start with a plug heat range of 5

Get 7s. You'll be making alot more power then him. Also aim for 11.5 AFR to be safer.

i made a mistake lol reason i didnt use the sync was because i set it with the jumped connector, that was my error
