groaning/rumbling noise when starting from a stop
hi all,
any idea what could cause this sound? as i begin rolling forward, i get a low groaning/rumbling. it's fairly quiet, i can only hear it on a non-crowded street, without music, etc. it sounds a bit like fireworks going off in the distance, if that's not too abstract a description.
i can't tell if it's from the drivetrain (i.e. clutch) or vehicle, since the only way i've been able to start moving involves engaging the clutch. i MAY also hear it when braking/turning, but i'm not certain. i'm leaning towards brakes or suspension?
any idea what to test/check/look for?
car is a 2000 LS. clutch is not stock, but tame enough. i have no idea what it is or how it was installed. i bought the car pretty recently.
thanks!
