Default 98 civic throwing a couple CEL's and oil light is on.

Car is a 98 Civic EX with an OBD1 B18B1 swap.

Blew my head gasket last week so I decided to fix it today. Before I fixed it, I was throwing one code for my coolant temp sensor. Put a new one in while I had the head off and got that all cleared up.

Still had codes after the head gasket fix, so I ran them again and found I had 3 different codes now.

1.) TDC (top dead center) sensor

2.) IAT (intake air temp) sensor

3.) Primary Oxygen Sensor Heater

Anyone got any feed back for me on these?

Also, while I had my motor torn down I changed the oil, and went from penzoil high mileage to Mobile 1 synthetic. Now my oil light is on and I have no idea why. It's not constantly on either. It flickers when I let off the gas while it's in gear, but when I press down it turns off. Also flickers on while idling. Anyone know what's up with that?

Oil light? Better check to see if the sender is going out. I'd get a cheap gauge form Autozone or somewhere and hook it up.

hope the sending unit is bad when that light is on oil pressure is falling below 3psi and that is bad....the sensor is above the oil filter.

Minimize running the engine until the oil pressure issue is solved. Does the oil pressure light turn off if you unplug the sender unit?

Turns out the oil light was just on because the wire going to that oil sensor was all hacked up and wasn't fully connected, which explains the random flickering. As for the engine codes, I'm not too worried about them because the person that had my car before me did a horrible job on the swap and put in a hacked up engine wire harness with bare wire showing everywhere. Should be getting a new harness in the next couple weeks so I will let you guys know how that all goes.
