Any, if you have the tools, talent, time and money. This really isn't a Civic specific question.

If you want to just chat about the possibility of doing something like this, this isn't the correct forum. If you're looking for a guide on how to do it you're best served just doing a Google search.

People have put all kinds of "foreign" engines into Hondas. No one has ever come on a forum and asked how to do it though. They just did it and posted pics.

A couple Nissan SR20's would pull a premium one week before racewars.

You'll need custom muffler bearings and make sure to buy Nissan VVL fluid, now that you no longer have VTEC.

You could drop the engine into the engine bay with no real issue. You will need custom engine mounts, and then wiring diagrams for the civic and the nissan. To integrate the two together. ECu will not be a pain in the *** because that will come directly off the nissan harness. But yes it can be done

i am glad i could give you a better answer than most.

Thanks, that was helpful! I understand that if you have money to blow then yeah anything is possible. I was speaking from more reasonable perspective and basic perspective you addressed.

You know you can do that with any engine.

So that really didn't help either because it was as vague as the question.

well if he is asking for a write up, i don't have that howto. but engine swaps are pretty basic. get both diagrams and map which wire should go to where. idk that's just me. and to make things better... here is my logic...

a car is a car, the only difference is the manufacture.

what i was looking for an answer was basically if it was a practical swap, and what if any was a reasonable engine for it per say grumblemarc

Oversimplified analysis if you ask me. A hybrid swap of this nature is limited only by the things I mentioned, talent, time, tools and money. If you're lacking on any of these fronts such a swap is NOT that simple. Let's not even get into the details like fabrication.

I don't see anywhere that anyone said it was a practical swap. Only that it could be done. Perhaps you needed to be more clear about your goals and expectations in the first post?

That's a very subjective question. It's certainly not practical for me, but it may be for you. For the money, you have much better options.
