Youre about to start another big pissing match about "which is better AP1 vs AP2" LOL, my advice is purchase what you can within your budget, then mod it how you want

02, and no regrets at all. I love the thing, apart from the lack of space for my fat body.

search s2ki.com and here. look at year-to-date changes and see the improvements made. there are alot of changes going to 2006 model, pretty much nothing changed after 2006.

I bought 06 daily driver because to me its obviously better, but if you are tracking the car, AP1 may be right for you. Key "feature" in AP1 is 9k redline, AP2 changes are VSA, better LSD, increased torque due to 2.2l engine vs 2.0l (10% increase across rev range i think), 8.2k redline, revised transmission, revised valve retainers, better audio, etc...etc.....

I have an 03 AP1 with 05AP2 motor, tailights, front bumper AP2V1 rims, and CR lip (soon my interior will be the CR's interior) and I dont have any regrets, space really isnt that bad for me, then again I have lower seat rails. I'm 6'4" about 195 athletic build and I'm comfortable even for 9hr road trips. Good luck!

Would love AP1 with AP2 wheels and tranny. Would defintely want the higher redline. In a Prelude swapped out H22A for F20B for the very same reason.

Best mod I did on my AP1 was the AP2 wheels. I'm perfectly content with everything else.

I don't know that its obvious... Maybe you can make that argument from the mechanical stand point with the additions made. Ap1 tends to be a little more raw in how it does its business... Ap2 more refined, but not necessarily better.

I've had both.

It's as simple as this:

AP1 is more of a raw, focused sports car. (Higher revving, stiffer more aggressive suspension, no traction control)

AP2 is more comfortable and still feels premium. (much nicer interior, better looking exterior, softer suspension, traction control)

I'm glad I spent 2.5 years in an AP1, but I love owning my AP2 now.

I have not been here long, but why should this thread be locked? Can we not have a grown up conversation about the pros/cons without devolving into a chest thumping match?

I went with AP1 for the redline, and the price point. The things I want to improve on mechanically would be changed on either car, so no point in getting an AP2 for me.

The reason it should be locked is because this is one of the oldest questions on here (apart from where the secret compartment is), and so this question has been asked in a lot of previous threads. And answered.

Otherwise, go for your life..
